Get to Know Me MY STORY

I have always been interested in wellness and health. Educating myself and implementing the best knowledge to myself and my family through the journey of my motherhood. Exercising was my best way to lose the excess weight after each pregnancy. But the effect was declining and the weight steadily started to creep back on. Suddenly, I was no longer able to stop it, I kept on gaining weight despite the fact that I was hungry all the time and never satisfied. I decided to upscale the matter and do bypass to stop the weight from increasing. In the middle of my search for getting healthy and lose weight, I came across the Ketogenic diet. I liked the idea very much and was so convinced to the extent that I went to Boston to attend the Keto Summit 2018 for five days and came back fully enthusiastic and ready to start. First week, there was a huge difference in my weight, skin, and my agony with hot flashes has disappeared. On the other hand, my diabetic type 1 daughter started following keto and it was amazing how her blood sugar was controlled and her daily usage of insulin dropped tremendously. Her HBA1C dropped to nearly normal and she also started losing weight after painful workout with high pose all the time. At the beginning, we were eating almost same food daily. Which made my husband challenge me for keto bread that satisfy our middle east type of diet. So it began.

I remember my first piece of bread I held in my hand and was so happy after 6 months missing bread tremendously. It was one of the recipe on the net which was eggy and sweet. But I enjoyed the fact that I am eating bread and still on keto. Months passes and my bread dough was different from time to time. Until I reached the perfect recipe. My dear husband joined us in our journey with keto and healthy style, then comes in the rest of the family. I called it Afia Bread. And while meeting people around me I introduced my Afia Bread and they were amazed by the quality and the taste of it.

So, my husband and I decided to start a family business selling keto food with main one as Afia bread. Its been now 2 years and 2 months since I started keto and I have lost 30kg, but I gained energy, strength and health. No more bloating, constipation or hot flashes. My aim now is to spread awareness about healthy food and inspire healthy cooking in every home. There are immense studies showing that chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity which are very widespread in our community, can be reversed at the very early stages by making lifestyle modifications including a healthier lifestyle. This diet will never leave you feeling hungry, you are guaranteed to feel satisfied while enjoying KETO friendly foods and desserts.
